There is nothing that cannot be “worked with and worked through”

THE JOURNEY
Therapy is a tool to resolve the challenges in your life, to help you feel more confident and more in control, providing insight and showing you a path through the experiences that are part of being human. Life can put you in a lonely place, maybe too hard to cope with, complicated, challenging or confusing.

Many people go through periods of times when they feel vulnerable, anxious, stressed, depressed or just unhappy. Sometimes these are triggered by obvious causes, like a breakup in a relationship, job loss or a bereavement, while at other times the underlying causes seem opaque, especially when life appears to be fulfilling and generally good. At the heart of my approach to therapy is a belief that the answer to life’s dilemmas is not “out there” but within us. When we start to love and accept ourselves as we are, we can begin to feel more empathy for others, our relationships will improve, and we will find it easier to have the sort of life we want.
Our heart can feel broken in so many ways; at work, at home, in spirit, in childhood, in relationships. It can be broken at any age, and countless times. Having a toolkit for repairs is essential. We carry around sadness, guilt, shame, pain, darkness, despair and in some cases like fertility we have a sense of desperation, all whilst working, loving, physically changing, caring and achieving. It is possible to feel relief, to let some of the pain go, to gain strength in your character and your confidence, to have the ability to heal and grow so you can live a life with less anxiety, worry and horrible thoughts. Psychotherapy can help through providing a safe and supportive non-judgmental space to look into the possible sources of feelings, behavioural patterns and core beliefs that might be the underlying causes of distress.
“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.”
